Grand Socco, the vast square at the entrance to the medina, has had a new lease of life after being successful redeveloped. It's a lively place where the inhabitants, passers-by and shopkeepers interact on a daily basis. The cheerful stalls in the covered market and the little shops nearby are full of vegetables, fruit, spices, flowers and olives.
