The painter János Kmetty (1889-1975), influenced by Cézanne and a member of Lajos Kassák's activist group, lived in Szentendre for many years. The museum in a former merchant's home is entirely devoted to his works. You will see self-portraits and still-life paintings, recurrent themes in his work. As time passed these were progressively reduced to essentials and by the 1960s had become almost schematic in form.
