Sun City, the South African Las Vegas, was created by millionaire Sol Kerzner in the 1970s in the former Bantustan of Bophutatswana. Initially, visitors were attracted by its casinos, slot machines and light entertainment frowned upon by puritan morality. Nowadays it is more of a family destination where South Africans come to enjoy its vast leisure facilities including man-made beaches, golf, water sports etc.
