All alone on a mountainside, this small chapel (10C) is one of the most extraordinary vesitges of Byzantine presence in Calabria. With its square plan, the fine arrangement of its bricks, two tiny apses facing the sea and five small cylindrical domes with bands of tiles at the top, the Cattolica is a miracle of simplicity, elegance and humility. Inside, some of the frescoes are still visible.
