An 8km/5mi-stretch of the Staphorst-Rouveen road is lined with virtually identical, picturesque thatched-roof farms, whose spruce wooden details are painted green and blue. The buildings are of the hall-house type, with numerous doors in line along their lateral façades. One of them has been converted into a museum open to the public. The former stables now stage temporary exhibitions devoted to local traditions.
