Shiogama is best known for its large fish market, which illustrates the importance of the fishing industry for the city. All sorts of fish are laid out on the stalls and you might just be tempted to pull up a seat at the market restaurant and sample some of the delicacies. The tuna auction lasts from 7-8am.
