This is the oldest stone church in the monastery (1422-1425), built over the tomb of the founder, Sergius of Radonezh. Many pilgrims press around the engraved silver reliquary containing the saint's remains under a gleaming canopy. The cathedral's greatest treasure is without a doubt its iconostasis decorated with 42 icons by Andrei Rublev and Daniil Chernyi.
