Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation, which owns over 400ha in the barrier islands, works to protect natural resources. Designed around a nature centre, this site of almost 100ha offers exhibits on wetland ecology, houses an aquarium for the kids, a butterfly house, a native plant nursery and nearly 8km of boardwalk trails through wetland and rainforest habitats.
