In the cliff next to the chapel are galleries formerly used as a necropolis, as evidenced by the numerous tombs hollowed out of the rock. A hole can be seen in the central cupola around which winds a spiral staircase. Note the naive representation of the Resurrection of the dead at the base of the cupola.
