Built between 1558 and 1590, this is one of the first covered theatres to be built in Europe. Its interior is typical of theatres built during the Renaissance, with a rectangular orchestra separating two square spaces, one for the stage and the other for the audience. The theatre has retained its original frescoes, as well as a colonnaded box adorned with statues, so that the audience watches performances under the gaze of the Olympian gods.
