Erasmusbrug, built by Ben van Berkel in 1996, has become the iconic symbol of Rotterdam. Referred to by locals as the "Swan", thanks to its elegant slender shape, the bridge is made up of two spans, plus a fixed section and a bascule bridge which opens to a height of 63m.
