Opinião do Guia Michelin
Chorro de Maita was the largest Indian cemetery in the Caribbean. Discovered in 1930, the bone remains deposited in a trench at the centre of the building date from 1490 to 1530. The 62 skeletons are displayed exactly as found; Natives in the foetal position, Spaniards lying on their backs, their arms crossed. Labels explain offerings found nearby (in gold, coral, copper, bone etc). Also on display are Indian vases, jewellery and utensils, plus photos taken at the time of the excavations.
