Cayo Saetía peninsula (42km²/16mi2), lined with small coves and overhanging cliffs, juts out into Nipe bay, 40km/24mi northeast of Mayarí. Interestingly, the site has long housed an African hunting reserve set aside for the regime's high dignitaries, although since turned into a protected nature reserve. So, don't be surprised if, during your trip (aboard old jeeps), you encounter zebras, giraffes, buffalos or antelopes!
