This complex remains the most beautiful and the largest Hindu sanctuary ever built in Indonesia. The Candi Prambanan was restored at the time of the Dutch. The various temples are spread about the huge quadrilateral divided into three concentric courtyards. In the centre stands the most sacred, where the main temples are located, dedicated to the Trimurti Trinity: on either side of Candi Shiva, the highest and holiest, are Candi Brahma and Candi Vishnu.
