It was here that the famous primatologist Jane Goodall created her first sanctuary in southern Africa. Free from the harsh treatment of their earlier lives, the chimpanzees are now cared for by vets and observed by ethnologists. Visitors here approach these primates, genetically man's closest relatives, with the utmost respect.
