The Okinawa Expo took place in 1975 and its theme was the ocean. Ocean Expo Park is a national park that was built on the site of the Expo and includes the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium, one of the largest and finest in Japan, a botanical garden, the Ocean Culture Museum, a large beach, a restaurant and an old village. A small electric bus shuttles between the park's various attractions.
