Johnstown Castle is now an agronomy research centre. The outbuildings are home to the Irish Agricultural Museum, with a dozen themed rooms telling the story of agriculture and rural life over the centuries. Johnstown Castle Gardens have more than 200 species of trees and bushes planted in its landscaped gardens.
