From Muckross Lake (Middle Lake), the road winds between two walls of wild rhododendrons, whose purple flowers bloom in May. As you reach Upper Lake, the landscape changes, with an increasing number of rocks and peatland giving way to woods. Then you come to the site of Ladies View, named in memory of Queen Victoria and her ladies-in-waiting, who admired the view. In spite of the crowds, you can enjoy the sight of the lakes and mountains.
