As its name indicates, this is the square for cathedrals. It has no less than four sanctuaries, not counting theIvan the Great bell tower, all immaculately white or magnificently decorated with gleaming golden onion domes. Muscovite princes and tsars have celebrated many great ceremonies - and also been buried - inside these wonders of architecture. Rightly so, as their interiors outdo each other in beauty. And the Italian inspired Palace of Facets with its lovely "white robe" is not to be outdone either!
