The famous statue of Vera Mukhina, the most famous symbol of the Soviet Union, was for a long time the emblem of the Mosfilm film studios. Created in 1937 for the Paris World Exhibition, Worker and Kolkhoz Woman, a technical feat at 24m high, faced the eagle and swastika of the Third Reich, seemingly defying the Nazi threat and moving towards a brighter future... Since 2010, it has stood on its colossal base, which hides a temporary exhibition centre.
