The Ferney Valley is a natural sanctuary in the heart of the mountains that dominate the eastern part of the island. This natural forest reserve is supervised by the Mauritian Wildlife Foundation. There is a guided tour of this area that shelters very rare species of birds and multiple endemic species of Mauritian plants. For further information, contact the interpretation centre.
