The oldest registered whiskey distillery (1866) in the US, this is the sole production facility for Jack Daniel's whiskey now sold in 130 countries. The fascinating tour shows visitors the clear Cave Spring, the cold water of which is free of iron - an important factor in making a good whiskey. Visitors also see the rickyard where native sugar-maple trees are burned into charcoal, the giant mash vats, and the charcoal filtering rooms, where 140-proof whiskey seeps slowly through the charcoal.
