Some 40km north of Lake Bogoria, the freshwater Lake Baringo (covering approximately 170km²) is home to a multitude of birds (herons, egrets, etc.), as well as hippopotami and crocodiles. Take a boat trip on the lake to observe them. The water levels can rise, flooding part of the habitations.
