Dedicated to St Stephen this Church also bears the name of the stream that used to run through this area. St Stephen's is an audacious creation (1672-1677) by Wren with verdigris Dome. On the west side, the square bare stone tower is topped with an elegant balustrade. The Belfry also square in Portland stone, was added in 1717
