Water from the aqueduct flows into this reservoir, which is sheltered in a building completed in 1746. Inside there is a waterfall and the Arca da Água (water arch basin) 7m deep with a capacity of 5 500m3. Beside the building is the station where the levels of water flowing to the city's fountains were monitored.
