Mined from 1931 to 1971, Delloye Colliery is today the Mining Heritage Centre, the largest mining museum in France in 8,000m2 of buildings spread over 8ha. The visit includes the showers and lantern shop, before you are invited to don a helmet and go down a shaft to the old galleries. Several extraction sites have been reconstituted, which chart the evolution of this profession, in a dark, almost scary atmosphere.
