The ruins of this castle, built in the 13C to protect the nearby silver mines, were rebuilt in the 19C in the neo-Gothic style. From the donjon, there is a lovely view of the confluence of the Lahn and the Troubadour Gothic castle of Stolzenfels on the opposite bank.
