The Tandjesberg site is a jewel of southern African rock art. Discovered in 1947 by French academic Henri Breuil, its Bushman pictures are around 300 years old. Among the 500 images on the rock Art National Monument, note in particular an elephant with its trunk morphing into a human figure and a polychrome eland.
