West of Terre-de-Haut stands the Pain de Sucre, its basalt flanks plunging into the crystal waters of the Caribbean. A rocky path leads to a small beach shaded by coconut palms, where the clear waters offer some of the best snorkelling on the island. Do not be tempted to swim towards the rock from the other shore, as the area is busy with pleasure boats.
