The large Union Estate, south of the lively village of Anse Réunion on the west coast, is located on a former plantation. The vast coconut grove bears witness to the former major role of coconuts, especially for producing copra oil, in the island's economy. Also worth seeing are the pen with giant turtles and a fine colonial house that belongs to the state. From the rear of the garden, you can head to Union beach and even as far as the superb beach at Anse Source d'Argent.
