Continue down Via Vittorio Emmanuele westwards to Cala Gavetta, the charming little fishing port and La Maddalena marina, lined with 18C residences. On Piazza XXIII Febbraio - commemorating the victory over the French - is a granite column, erected in homage to Giuseppe Garibaldi.
