The two big resorts in the region are located at Playa Larga, nestled in the bay, and at Playa Girón, at its mouth, where the Museo Girón tells the story, in particular, of the Bay of Pigs landings. The coast road linking the two beaches is lined by memorials which pay homage to fallen soldiers. Visitors can also enjoy a refreshing swim in Caleta Buena, a huge natural pool in a creek teeming with tropical fish.
