Killarney National Park covers 10 000ha, it includes three lakes - Lower, Middle and Upper Lakes, which are linked by a river set in countryside whose varied landscapes offer an idyllic setting for hiking or bicycling outings. In the heart of the park are Muckross Estate and its landscaped grounds; Ross Castle, little more than a fortified keep; and Torc Waterfall, which tumbles down some 18m/60ft.
