This Tudor-style building houses treasures from the town of Ipswich and its surroundings. It boasts a fine collection of paintings by 17C artists from Suffolk, in particular Constable and Gainsborough, as well as the early-17C painted closet by Lady Drury. The kitchens from the period, the collection of porcelain from Lowestoft, and a re-creation of a 17C reception room (with mannequins dressed in period costume) are also well worth seeing.
