The three hierarchs, Basil the Great, John Chrysostom and Gregory of Nazianzus, to whom the church is dedicated, are the focus of a major feast on 30 January. Formerly covered in gold, silver and lapis lazuli, the church is a veritable lacework of oriental-inspired stonework. Inside, only fragments of its frescoes remain, following successive fires and earthquakes.
