Downtown has several attractive buildings, in particular City Hall; the Education Centre; the Art Gallery; and Hamilton Place, a cultural centre with two theatres. A few blocks west is Hess Village (junction Hess and George Sts.), a collection of attractive older homes now containing funky and fashionable boutiques, restaurants and cafes.
