The Dachstein cable car has four sections. The first station, Schönbergalm (1,345m/4,400ft), is not only the starting point for the tour of the famous Dachstein caves, it also houses the Caves Museum made up of two caves. The second station (2,100m/6,900ft) leads to the Krippenstein plateau (extra fee). From there, a marked trail leads to the Pioneer's cross and then to the most beautiful view you'll ever find of Hallstatt lake to the north.
