Founded in the 1C BC, this hidden city at an altitude of 1 200m was the capital of Decebal. The residential districts excavated to date give an idea of Dacian life and its sophisticated level of civilisation: shops, workshops and houses constituting the largest known Dacian civil settlement. Citadel restored by the Romans and sacred precinct (square and circular temples in limestone and andesite).
