The narrow street that climbs towards the cathedral is line by craft shops and houses with wrought-iron balconies. At no 28, an alcove decorated with azulejos was built to give thanks to the Lord of Earthquakes for having spared Évora in the 1755 earthquake that destroyed Lisbon.
