A 14C gate marks the entrance to the old town, with its Gothic and Manueline buildings. To get there, from the Rossio, go to the right of the church to Praça Luís de Camões. Then, at the end on the left, take the Rua da Frandina, behind the pillory, and climb the stairs. The Rua da Rainha Santa Isabel leads to the Largo Dom Dinis, where the main monuments are to be found.
