The museum contains over 900 works of art from the 20C and 21C (Arp, Barlach, Beuys, Brancusi, Calder, Giacometti, Kollwitz, Kricke, LeWitt, Magritte, Moore, Tinguely, etc.). A separate luminous building showcases the major part of Wilhelm Lehmbruck's (1881-1919) work (paintings and sculpture). A further recent extension is devoted to contemporary art and the 7ha/17-acre park is dotted with impressive sculptures.
