Overlooking the small town of Diez, Oranienstein Castle (17C) was one of the favourite residences of the Dutch court. In 1867, it was converted into a cadet school, and is now a barracks for an armoured brigade. It is also home to the Orange-Nassau museum devoted to the history of the Orange family.
