This museum, located within a 24ha/59-acre nature reserve, boasts a superb collection of American art, ranging from pre-Colonial to early 20C paintings and furniture. It is also home to a collection of European decorative arts and furniture. Temporary exhibitions display the museum's other treasures (Cuban art, African art, astronomy maps, photographs etc), while the Prehistory section includes the 150 000-year-old skeleton of a sloth.
