The pharaoh Sneferu built this pink limestone pyramid (which appears red at sunset) close to the rhomboidal pyramid. Its construction is almost perfect, with a slope of 43°. It is 99m in height and has a very wide base with sides measuring 200m. It is likely that Sneferu was buried here, even though no sarcophagus of the pharaoh has been discovered. Visitors should be aware that a reasonable level of fitness is required to visit the interior and that the descent can be slightly claustrophobic.
