Santa Rosa is a famous battlefield, commemorated by a museum, La Casona. It is also a national park with various habitats ranging from tropical dry forest to mangrove swamps. To the north is the resplendent white Playa Blanca; to the south, the beaches of Nancite and Naranjo serve as nesting grounds for sea turtles.
