Designed by architect Joseph Lyman Silsbee in 1892, the greenhouses, in which the influence of London's Crystal Palace can be seen, and the botanical garden cover a little over one hectare today. Inside the huge glass and copper structure, four main spaces house orchids, palms, ferns and flowers.
