On a site formerly occupied by a cemetery, this sweeping expanse is one of Chicago's most compelling landscapes. Unlike so many urban areas with waterfronts blighted by industry, Chicago provides unlimited access to Lake Michigan via its numerous lakefront parks. Lincoln Park is one of the finest. Many Chicagoans head there for the zoo, greenhouses, picnic areas, beaches and playgrounds.
