Connected to the mainland by only a narrow isthmus, Monte Hacho juts out into the sea, with a citadel crowning its curved mass. The road hugs the coastline all around the peninsula, commanding wonderful views: to the south over the western coast of the Rif and to the north over the Spanish coast and the Rock of Gibraltar.
