This is Italy's Land's End - finis terrae. Capo Sandalo is the westernmost promontory of the island of Carloforte and, indeed, the whole of Italy and home to a lighthouse which lights up the Marseille-Tunis maritime route. On a clear day, it is possible to make out the coast of Iglesiente from the top of the cliff. You will have to go down steep paths or a long staircase to get to the water's edge. Isolotto del Corno, off the coast, is rich in fish due to the maritime currents.
