The green hills of Yuexiu Park are popular with the inhabitants of Guangzhou, who come here to relax, enjoy a picnic or carry out their morning exercises. Amateur photographers make a beeline for the elegant, red wood, five-storey pagoda, which is now home to the History Museum of Guangzhou. The sculpture, some 200m from the entrance to Jiefang Bei Lu, depicts a local legend, in which the five Immortals descend from heaven on the back of five goats to found the city.
